Indeed, 340-370gms for worsted and 400gms for woollen.

The real question is 11 oz the sweet spot for worsted flannel or we must go up to 12/13oz like for woolen flannel?

I have a suit in 13oz Dugdale woolen flannel and would no go lower; however, if I wanted a specific winter suit, would go for a heavier cloth.

Locality depending, 13 oz is perfect for DC/Bethesda area during the winter. Looking to get a number of 12/13 oz weight flannels for next winter...

The sweet spot is whatever you want it to be. I like 15oz Smiths, but I even love Holland & Sherry 140s Flannel.

I believe that it is ultimately up to you and your needs. To me the 12-13oz worsteds are the sweet spot, not only due to the great variety offered but also because I can wear them all year round but summer. The 11oz's are nice too, especially on the warmer days of spring...

I'm torn between the beauty of the cloth and its functionality...
