first off, how does one pronounce it? apparently, these are very popular swimtrunks on the french riviera, etc.

i visited the vilebriquin shop in scottsdale, and they look great-- difficult to pay $140 each, but am working a source that may be able to secure them for about $65-$70 a pair for me (and anyone else interested). the beach towels were really cool, too.

so, what's the story? anyone own a pair? why so expensive and prestigious for those 'in the know'?

High margins. Made in Morocco. Can't imagine costs more than $2-3 in production costs. Have a couple and like 'em, but prefer the longer ones. As my old girl friend stated in Punta Mita as I stood next to a guy in the long ones whilst I sported the short ones, "He looks like a man; you look like you are looking for a man." They run small. vill-bri-'can http://www.departures.com/fa/fa_0503_swimsuit.html
