In the same boat
How come? I know it is worth it because Norway has a high standard of living and is the country America aspires to be, so paying a bit more for your AE's isn't a bad thing from this perspective.
There really should be laws against this. How much is a pair of Edward Greens? Or Vass? Or Lobb?
For 6-7 cash you guys should be uberballin over there.
Does that mean you international guys suffer from lower quality poon?
I know AE's a marked up by about $150 here. Alden's by $300 or more. Church's are also around $300. Don't know about Scandinavia, but I suspect in both places it's a combination of import duties and "because they can"
Wow. How much do you pay in shipping when you buy from places like Amazon?
50 bucks....but then we have to pay 15% import duty on anything over 150 dollars. Even still, it ends up being cheaper, and there is a good chance that if you have a foreign sounding name, customs doesn't bother with the import duties (they are a bitch to collect on their part).
Amazon doesn't ship most things here (books, yes...but books can be had here for cheaper) because of agreements made with producers; I don't know about Amazon sellers though. I do buy a lot off eBay...and I've probably spent at least two thousand dollars on shipping in the last two years. And I've probably still saved a lot of money doing it.
Not to derail or anything but... No... Just no.
I ring in late on this and apparently a purchase was already made. Perhaps one reason he only wears dress shoes 4-5 times a year is because it takes several months between wearings for him to recover from the trauma caused by wearing inferior shoes. Perhaps a subscription to GQ or Details magazine will introduce him to a better world. Or better yet, bring him here if you can.
I wouldn't count on GQ or Details for that. lol
You know it to be true my friend. You cannot deny destiny.
Anything America has done, Norway has done it better.
A recent write-up on Norway in Bloomberg: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-09-20/norway-has-too-much-of-a-good-thing#r=auth-s
I don't want to get into a political discussion, but let me just say... You will take my guns from my cold dead hands. ;o)
No Norway for me.
Be careful what you wish for.....especially on SF.
