1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I'm wearing a pair today. I love them and think that they are made better than my John Lobbs.

What does that really mean? :puzzled:

    Hi,
The Country line is actually part of the Exclusive range. The heel pad inside my Lombard boot says 'AS Exclusive'.

What attracted me to the country range was the versatility of the shoe but of course this is personal choice.

I've always found it a bit odd that the AS threads don't get more posts, seeing how many of us are proud owners. I don't know if it's a question of critical mass as some have suggested, or if there is something else. I'm as guilty of this as anyone else ofc. I have five pairs of AS shoes, and have made maybe 5-10 posts in AS threads. Meanwhile I've probably made 50+ posts in the Carmina threads, and I only own two pairs, with two more incoming.

Absolutely AS know how to put quality n service together finely. I could tell that by spending some time with AS's product director Chay. Plus the quality of calf leathers used is just superb.

Does anyone know where I can find more information on AS's revamp in 2009? That is, when they 'gentrified' their offerings.

Yes, but to G&G standards . AS was making higher quality shoes for G&G than the shoes they make for themselves.

The AS handmade line is at least as nice as GG. The Exclusive line is a little under. Then again they are half as expensive.

Richard from Shoe Healer could help with that as he's worked with AS. He is quite a friendly helpful gent.

The point is that AS was and still is capable of making high standard shoes in G&G's caliber.

So I have been lusting over the Hannover boots lately... and serendipitously they turned up on Gilt.com. Sure, they were only $50 cheaper than they would be from Richard, but it'll be cheaper to return should they not fit... and also I took it as a sign/excuse to buy them. My girlfriend says I need more boots or suits like I need a hole in the head. [IMG]

PSA: They also have the Lombard up there currently, too.

How do you guys usually size on the 99 last, such as the Ramsey? Just trying to get some input, compared to true size or alden barrie/trubal sizing, etc.

Same as the 724 and 109. I recommend you ask in the dedicated AS threads though, you'll probably get more answers.
