What's the best pants for work cotton or wool? BB Milano, Howard Yount or something else?

I'm looking to upgrade my wardrobe for work and was desperate for some advice. I work in a casual environment. Although to us that means some people wear jeans and some wear dress pants. Currently, I wear cotton chinos(J Crew) but I would like to do something more like these.

Both seem great but I'm a little concerned about cleaning. I understand you can't launder wool trousers and too much dry cleaning will make them shine. Is there any advice on how to best take care of these pants? Or should I just stick with cotton since those would be easier to clean?

Long post but what's the best advice for work pants? Cotton or wool? And how to keep them fresh.

Thanks
