Dayton's size 6.. I would take one sloppy eyelet problelm over the pair I got any day.

    Your welcome:D

Shipping back to them is covered if they made a mistake on your boots, this was confirmed to me at the time of ordering.

FYI because of the massive influx orders from SF, Dayton had to bring in extra shoe makers to complete these orders.

I hope Dayton paid them more than $.50 per hour and did not slap those workers wit boots and call them pigs.
But then, looking at your boots....

Didn't get a tracking number so I am assuming that they didn't ship mine as promised. At this point, I am going to give them till Wed and try again. I'm starting to loose my patience as it's taken twice as long for them to ship as they originally told me.

I called Dayton and asked them to set my boots aside and finish them only after the SF rush was over, and only when the best materials and craftsmen were available.

You must be the same people who order custom, made-to-measure leather jackets from TOJ and then start harassing Drew for shipping dates and tracking numbers after a couple of weeks.

If you want a pair of boots yesterday, 1) cancel your order, 2) get a refund and 3) eBay some Butteros. Everyone involved will be much happier.

When I ordered mine, I was told 5 to 6 weeks. It's been well past that. I called for my first update three weeks ago and was promised they would ship within a week and a half. I called again this week and was promised within two days. This is not at all like your example of TOJ and is a matter of broken promises. I wouldn't mind it taking this long if they had done a better job of managing expectations and originally set more realistic shipping dates.

Yeah I'm going to exchange mine. I called and Michelle said she will call me back when she gets the details of what I ordered. At this point I don't see them till probably FALL. It sucks, but I rather have them do it correctly and not rushing.

It's not just about being impatient. This outcome is hardly the fault of people who were charged months ago. You shouldn't have to ASK Dayton not to ship out a half-assed product. They should know how to run their company, pay workers, give accurate dates and not bullshit customers that have already been charged.

Those frankenboot pics are shameful. I'd be embarrassed if I worked for a company shipping that product. The whole reason to go with a smaller company is for quality of construction and a personal touch. If the product isn't worth waiting for, then I don't think Dayton will get these orders again.

edit: congratulations on your first post!

Well as for TOJ, I don't recall Drew not meeting deadline, if not finishing earlier (at least for my case)

Look at the eyelets on this pair that was not even part of the "rushed production". They are just plain sloppy whether rushed or not. [IMG]

Some of you guys make it seem like Dayton is doing a favor to it's customers for delivering a non-defective product in a reasonable time frame.
