What's more important to you: style and fit, or quality of construction?

Assuming you had to make a trade-off between something of great style and fit, or great quality, what would you pick?

To me it's a no-brainer in that something of outstanding style and fit can make up for mediocre quality. But I get a very different impression from many others here.

style and fit.

I'm fairly thin, so fit is essential to me. I'm still learning how to get the right "fit".

I won't wear it if it doesn't fit.

I won't buy it if it is not well made.

yea, both are as important, why would you waste money on a garment if either one of these requirement is missing.

For me If I find the suit of my dreams, but its not fully canvassed or whatnot, I'd still snap it up in a second. If I suspect its prone to be ruined in short order, I wouldn't buy it, but just because quality is not top of the line, I wouldn't rule it out.

True enough for me too, though I would also add that I'm not averse to applying a cost-benefit argument on top. That is, if it's cheap enough for me to not care about it falling apart soon, and the style and fit are excellent, then I'll consider purchasing just because it will look and feel good until it falls apart.

I like quality and am willing to pay a huge premium for it, but it's for nothing without the propoer fit and look.

that's like asking, what would you rather have, a bike with just the front wheel, or just the rear wheel?

I think it's more like asking: "Would you rather ride a shoddy bike with two wheels, or a well-made bike with only one?" I'd take my chances with the former every time.

I would rather have style and fit but it depends on how large a gap we are talking about with the construction. I cant wear something made of bloody rice paper.

Style and fit are at odds as well. I have seen people forgo an immaculate fit for a certain style. People have images of who they want to be or think they are or can be or whatever. Perhaps the saddest cases are those who cannot tell you who or what they aspire to be in their clothes.

It depends.

Naturally style and fit, since it would be pointless to wear ill fitting/ unstylish clothes that would last a long while, due to their superior construction.

I choose style and fit, but this question is sort of artificial when I've found that things that aren't well put together don't usually fit very well either.

all the criteria are important, but fit is the absolute number 1 priority. I don't care if its dior or hermes, if they don't fit properly, I'll take that h&m shirt for 19.95.
