You come to a conclusion that may or may not be right, but the evidence you use to support said conclusion is either wrong or irrelevant? Thanks!

It's not a fallacy. I know what you're thinking of, but I don't know what the term for it is either. I vaguely remember a math teacher telling me this back in 8th grade when I got the right result for an algebra equation but I used the wrong process to get there. I didn't get credit for the answer being right and I thought it was unfair.

I hated that math teacher. She was the worst.

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
