If you're a "friend of Bill W." it means you're in Alcoholics Anon. Bill W. founded it, thus he's my mortal enemy.

Gotcha. Thanks. Speaking of AA, I've actually never been drunk. Control freak, you see.

You and Huntsman both have standing invitations to visit for some pleasant tippling.

Hey guys-

have you ever tried to make White Russians with soy milk? It tastes just the same in my opinion and is good for those who cannot digest cow milk

I have. I prefer the taste of soy milk to cow milk. Very good indeed. But you know White Russians are supposed to have cream, too? Don't you remember the beginning of the movie where The Dude buys a carton of cream with a post-dated check?

Now this is my kind of thread. Tried to start a similar one on SuFu a few weeks back and it didn't go over so well... Bourbon:
whiskey.jpg
Evan Williams Single Barrel, Buffalo Trace SB Special Bottling, Knob Creek, Makers (back), Eagle Rare SB, Old Forrester BB SB, Hirsch 16-yr, Elmer T Lee SB, Vintage 17-yr, Woodford Reserve (blech, a gift), Bernheim Wheat (not bourbon technically), Sam Houston, Blantons... plus extras up top when these run out.

Not pictured but recently added- Van Winkle Lot B, Four Roses Small Batch & Single Barrel Absinthe:
absinthe.jpg
Edouard, Nouvelle Orleans, Matter Luginbuhl Prototype 30, Montmartre, Un Emile, Duplais (both French& standard bottlings) Helfrich, Ulex Ordinaire, Muse de France, La Ptite, (Blanchette not pictured) Other random stuff - nothing worth noting:

(the eichelberger on the right got left out of the absinthe group shot) p.s. forgot the bottle of home-made Croatian brandy (rogac) that's squirreled away.

How are you gents enjoying your Scotch? On the rocks, straight, with water? At what temperature?

Thanks, Nantucket. I was really sorry I missed the NYC get-together in June. If you are in that neck of the woods, lemme know (however, such an occasion will likely call for an SF get together anyway!)

Kent, there's a scotch (and a way to drink it) for every mood, I think. The good stuff I take a sip of neat, then add a tad of water at room temp. Sometimes I stay with it neat (though obviously not for any of the higher ABV/cask strength stuff). I do JW Black with water and a tad of ice sometimes, or on the rocks sometimes (sacrilige!) and Jamieson's or Cutty's with more water and a good deal of ice when I'm hot.

I am so itching to post a picture of the bar right now but it is undergoing some renovation to be done by Christmas (don't have alot of time, y'see). Presently it is in crates. It's not in a 'common' room so it pretty much takes up a ten-foot wall. I may have an older one, will have to look.

Regards,
Huntsman
