Canali suit: Double breasted 3 x 1 (I think that's the term - only bottom row of three rows of buttons actually double buttons)

85% wool; 15% silk. What do Canali suits actually SELL for (as opposed to MSRP)?

In terms of bargain hunting, new Canalis can be found regularly for $600-$800. But the DB makes it less desirable, so you might factor that in.

Quick question why does the DB make it less desirable ?

Less popular, perhaps. Not necessarily less desirable. And that button configuration is 6x1 (total buttons x 'buttoning' buttons) which is, I think, a bit rare. 6x2 and 4x1 are more common.

Best price I ever did on a Canali was $280 for a 6x2 db. But I also am fortunate enough and oh so grateful to have a hookup at a local outlet.

Yes, exactly. I certainly didn't mean to disparage DB suits in general; a nice DB is a thing of beauty. But I can't imagine they sell nearly as well, so there might be less competition in the bargain bin. (Of course, I'm sure they're produced in much smaller numbers, so there aren't as many to choose from.)

What about Canali sport coats? I see them on sale at the shop I go to for about $1,000, so about $750 when they have a sale. I would love to find a better deal (I just lucked into one for $450 on a 50% off winter clearance sale).

CAnali suits are $1000 at Filene's Basement Union Square this evening. Same price as Oxxford!
