I say go for it. It's cheaper than a 7-fold tie, and you'll go to your grave never having wished you'd bought a better tie case.

I've tried numerous tie cases and don't think they are worth the effort or space. I just fold mine twice and put them in with everything else. I never have any problems. For travel, knot ties are great. You will never have a problem with wrinkles with them.

Not really concerned about wrinkles in ties, but I am deathly afraid of snags and pulls on the ties.

I ruined a perfectly good tie (haven't even worn it yet) last month. It got snagged on one of the "convenient" zippers inside my luggage.

I suppose a brown bag or plastic bag can work just as nice.

I've found rolling ties more effective than folding even in a case. +1 on the paper bag idea. That's a great addition.

Got nce coach leather one for about $30 on eBay but rolling or folding them and storing in the mesh shoulder pockets of a garment bag is another alternative.

I travel a lot and use the Eagle Creek cube. I love it - you can roll up six ties easily and the structured sides keep it from getting squished. I've used actual tie travel cases such as the Col. Littleton one (Eagle Creek used to have a version) but I don't like folding the ties, can leave a crease. No problems with rolling though. Here's the link to Eagle Creek's cubes. http://www.eaglecreek.com/packing_so...e-Small-41092/ EZ

Brown actually. But I am heading to the outlets on Black Friday and would be happy to pick one up for you. Problem is no guarantee they will still have them and you would have to wait three weeks.
