1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Not a huge fan of "ventless" jackets. The style also look a little dated.

You should be more specific, and ask instead: "What would Moo pay for this jacket?"

The answers would be more illuminating.

    Just how "dated"?
Hmm, they all look "classic" to me...
What would a current/modern sportcoat look like?

SirSutchers, Egads. I prefer the outdated look !

Spoo, ouch, that's an awfully outdated phone.

Hrmm... can't tell much about it, but it looks really dated, I don't like the pattern/color and is a true three button which I never like.

Oh, and it's spelled faux pas.

You think the phone is outdated? I would use that brick any day of the week.

Any "faux paux" with this one?
    Comments on Style? Age?

One too many buttons, high button stance, no waist supression (or any attempt at a "fitted" style at all, for that matter) either short sleeves or a long jacket, substitute-teacher pattern, and some of the ugliest shoulders I've ever seen on a sportscoat.

Now some of the geezers on this fora may disagree on many of these points, but to me this jacket is not showing it's age very well.

I wouldn't pay anything because I wouldn't buy it. Whatever you're thinking about paying, I guarantee that there are countless better alternatives for less if you look hard enough.

I don't think you should pay anything for it. I assume you've come here to learn stuff about style. Let not buying this jacket be your first lesson.

lovellum, thanks for the empirical negatives.

    1) 3 buttons. Seems to be a no-no for you. Yet, I have a 2006 Canali suit with 3 buttons. So, its not a "dated" issue, but a style issue?

    2) Too boxy? Yes, I kind of sensed that also. (I'm learning!)

    3) Sleeves should end closer to the bottom of the jacket? Any general differential? X inches?

    4) I actually like the pattern. I suppose "fashion" is subjective, but since I'm a newbie, I am not "placing" this jacket, and am more objective.
Sort of like a Rip Van Winkle who thinks a mint 1985 BMW 325 looks better than the 2005, even though it's clearly "dated" to anyone who sees BMW's daily.

    5) Can you explain why the shoulders are ugly? I see nothing "striking". Not trained in this.

It's not a bad coat, a bit dated though. I may pay a couple hundred not much more, especially since i'd have to get it vented and that can be costly.

bowtie, This Jack Victor jacket was listed for sale for $20 (+$10 ship). It didn't sell. Hey, I just want to say, I love this forum, and I want to thank the people who have responded to my postings... I am thinking is it is at all possible to "pay" you guys back. Outside of clothing, which topics/things/skills/subjects do you wish you knew more about, or want to become better at ?
