If you were having a suit made just for the hell of it, and not for business dress, what would you have made?

If my tux from Mr. Ned turns out well, I'm thinking about ordering something for fun. It could be something basic like a light to medium grey flannel (a good ground for more unusual shirt/tie combinations) or something out there and harder to find RTW, like a bold plaid or windowpane. Two piece, single breasted, maybe patch pockets. I don't have to wear suits for work, so this would be for purely social occasions.

What would you get?

light gray flnnel ( not too heavy though, like around 11 oz maybe), with faint light blue windowpane, if I could find something like that. 2 button peak lapel, side vents , flat front touser with no belt loops and side metal adjustter.

Fun question!

I would love a navy or charcoal with a chalk stripe windowpane pattern in a light flannel. It's a bit bold, but also dressy and very Duke of Windsor. It would look great at social occasions and you wouldn't look at all like you just came from work.

I'd get an extraordinarily rich chocolate brown worsted flanel -- say, around 13 oz. -- with a dark, drab green OR burnt orange windowpane (perhaps 3-inch). Natural shoulder, medium waist supression, double reverse or forward pleats (depending on how I felt that day), and cuffs. Button fly. I'd also request an Oxxford waistband if I could, because I just love it.

If you really want a F.U. suit, make the DB notch lapel.
