The Stripey Jackass shirt will undoubtedly be something everyone will be shaking their heads at later. I would personally add the faux-hawk (often seen together) and stupid pre-distressed jeans on people who obviously don't know what an oil filter even is. What else will be one of these?

Square-toed shoes, particularly models made of cheap black leather with rubber soles.

I would add my vote to trucker caps, that was a trend that should have been over before it started. I'll add:

    ~Calf-high boxing shoes
    ~The white blazer
~The "my gel was drying and I walked into a wall" look (basically all of the hair combed forward and then at the front of the face it goes straight up)
    ~The mp3/cellphone around the neck
~The semi-ironic, mostly sophmoric t-shirt (damn, that was terrible) such as "Getting Lucky in Kentucky" or "Everyone Loves an Italian Boy"

That's all I can think of for now...

I'm going to get 100 shirts printed to sell on ebay that say on them:

"this t-shirt is semi-ironic and mostly sophomoric"

Anything we took to the extreme:

    Really distressed jean
    Really low rise jeans
    Really flared jeans

especially really distressed, lowrise, flared jeans. Hey, it's True Religion. These jeans, combined with a fitted striped shirt and pointy boots, will be remembered as the truly metrosexual, actually, let's call a spade a spade, girly-man, look (note that this has no bearing on sexual orientation - the combo makes guys look like girls, and usually mingers at that. If the shirt and jeans are both rather loose, we morph into the American Jackass look.

And I agree with all of Aaron's points, especially the hair thing. What possesses people to want to look like Ross Gellar?

Sidenote. Every time I go to the barber, he tries to cut my hair like this. I can usually fix it, but it doesn't matter where I go... Local barber, Hair Cuttery, the place my GF goes, I say "I don't do much with it, just keep it messy." I come out with a shellacked head with a tiara in front. I can't go collegiate/rockstar mullet - I have to go to work. What's a dude to do?

As for trends, I suppose today's ice is yesterday's Mr. T chain or gold medallion.

EDIT: Speaking of girly-men, I just read my post.

Doubtful on the striped shirts thing.

I'd imagine the way way way oversized thing, the "ironic" shirt thing, and maybe overdistressing.

+1 on the pre-distressed denim look. my #1 rant since the first day it happened

    other forecasts:

    -super oversized sportswear
-low hanging baggy pants where you can see the boxers
    -sports jerseys as dailywear

basically a lot of what's called "urban wear", but then it will make its comeback in 15 years

i haven't seen this look in a long time. i think it died when ricky martin changed his hairstyle.

and i agree that all the hip hop urban wear crap, as ridiculous as it looks to us now, will begin to look ridiculous to everyone else very soon. after all, p-diddy's over it, right?

Agree with everything said so far. Although it isn't that popular yet, blazers and jeans screened/patched with some sort of gaudy graphic. About 20 minutes ago, I saw a guy that had a giant barcode screened on the back of his blazer (like he had been to prison) and a big flower patched on his low-rise, distressed jeans.

Actually, pretty much every subpar streetwear designer, from Triple Five Soul on down, has done this already. Hopefully, a blip in the streetwear sky, that's it.

The Apple iPod is going to be a punchline in the future.

Just like pagers and big 80s cellphones are getting funny now, those white headphones are going to be hilarious.

I can think of other things, like the rebirth of big aviators, that will look stupid in retrospect, but we will probably not be able to recall them with our soma addled minds. Maybe if we see a picture of ourselves in them we will briefly recall.

Sneakers with soles so low they look like ballet slippers fit in this category too, they look stupid but not that memorable.

Certainly not as bad/good as poodle skirts or fringed-leather vests.
