I was in high school during the mid- to late 1980s and was, oddly enough for someone living in northern Canada, a surf bum.

Like the guy in my avatar when I wasn't at school. I went to a private Catholic school where expressing one's self wasn't exactly encouraged.

I mostly wore some crap that was available in the supermarket. I used to hate shopping when I was younger, I only started to become interested in clothing when I started at the university (that would be 12 years ago).

Who the hell could afford Versace in high school?

I wore Polo shirts, whatever jeans were in vogue -- Sevens, Energie, etc. and Pumas.

I guess we were fortunate (spoiled), our parents had the money, and just threw it at us. My parents wouldn't flinch when I "decided" that I needed another pair of gators or a new bracelet, I'd just use their credit cards and go crazy. My friends and I were a bit competitive about shopping--which didn't help, either.

Seems to be much different from what you wear every day now, Kitonbrioni.

I wore an unkempt full beard, cheap levis, tent-sized tshirts, a face full of acne, and an extra hundred pounds. Needless to say, things have have improved for me in the seven years since then.
