It's called a CONTRAST COLLAR (usually accompanied with CONTRAST CUFFS). White collar and cuffs are more formal (i think) than their self coloured brethren.

You should be able to find them in Dubai with ease.

If that picture was taken in Dubai it's understandable, Dubai is home to the some of the douchiest of douchebags. Trust me, all my highschool graduate "friends" are them.

I actually have a pink OCBD with a white contrasting collar (the cuffs are not contrasting) that I don't wear with a tie. I agree that a tie should always be worn with contrasting collar and cuffs, but I feel less restricted when it's contrasting collar only ... especially if it's a button down. And, I would never leave more than one button open - but that's my personal preference.

they look fine when worn with banker stripes. I stopped wearing them for a little while because of styleforum groupthink.

But i broke em out again.

they're fine, just as long as it isn't worn as clubwear.

Why not? Is there a risk that will make you inappropriately dressed for a club? I think that guy looks just fine. I had a blue one I wore without a tie or jacket for the longest time, because there was never occassion for me to wear a tie, but I liked wearing the shirt anyways.
