I am looking to look better at my new job than at my last one. We dress stereotypical finance business casual(navy or grey trousers with blue or white shirt). what type of collar should i have for this stereotypical dress, i assume since no tie spread is out, but i think point or button down is what you should go with?

Hey @Allwhitebuffies , I moved your post to our Menswear Advice forum. Button down is your best bet and soft spread your second choice, IMO.

Truth is - don't overthink the collar. Any of the 3 basic styles will work. Just make sure the shirt fits correctly and isn't baggy or too tight.

A regular spread collar might not look right, but a semi spread collar possibly would look better than a point collar. That would depend on face shape and other features. Of course collar size and fit and general fit of the shirt are very important.
