^ First episode of TLDG aired last Sunday night. It's not up there with the '70s BBC adaptions of Tinker, Tailor and Smiley's People but it's better than the Night Manager in my opinion.

I've been very interested in Homecoming but for some reason hesitant. Maybe this long weekend. Will need to get started on Making a Murderer Season 2 too.

Watched this over the wknd. It started out with some promise and then faded IMO. After appr 3/4 episodes, it really didn't keep my interest much.

Finished Season 2 of Fauda this weekend.

I don't really know the geography of Israel, but was I wrong in thinking the Arabs were getting around a little too easily in season 2? Almost like game of thrones.

It is a tiny country. Nablus, which is the village where most of the Arab-centric action takes place, is a one hour drive from Tel Aviv. If you are counting from the border between the Palestinian territories and Israel, due west of Nablus, and Tel Aviv, it is like 20 minutes. Ramallah is like fifteen minutes from Jerusalem.
I don't recall where Doron's father's farm is, but even if it was the very far north, it would only be a couple of hours' drive.

Right, but aren't there a lot of checkpoints that make it hard for the Arabs from the west bank to move around? In one early episode the students bluffed their way through a checkpoint by speaking hebrew (presumably at the border into israel proper) and the show went out of its way to emphasize that it was really risky. Then... they just go back and forth as if it was nothing. Or am I just confused about geography?

I think maybe a little of both. Once inside of Israel proper, there are very few checkpoints so once the student-bombers crossed in, they were o.k. The checkpoints are primarily at the crossings between Israel and the West bank and in around areas where Jews live in the West Bank. Also, the students didn't go back and forth much once they crossed in to Israel proper (maybe only when they went to Doron's father's farm and I am not sure that is the same group). Al Makdasi did, more, but his Hebrew was more fluent so he would have had less trouble (in show logic).

I've been rewatching Breaking Bad. It's amazing how much I can forget in five years or so---it's like watching it for the first time. Bryan Cranston's wife is such a sanctimonious *****. Then I remembered the actress is in real life, too. Great casting!

Started at finished Homecoming last night. Very, very good. I loved that they kept the episodes to 30 minutes. Also, watched about half of Making a Murderer 2 but lost interest. I may force myself through it just to wrap up the season.

Narcos: Mexico snuck up on my Netflix a week or so back. Finished it up Friday. Very good as usual but it seemed like it's lost some steam since Colombia.
