Not exactly streaming but my wife is a fan of baking shows. I usually don't pay much attention to them but right now she's been watching one called Nailed It . Three, different every show, very novice bakers compete to bake the best version of a novelty cake . It is laugh out loud funny. Best one so far is the oozing Alien autopsy cake.

Lasso was great. Slow Horses is just amazing. I enjoyed the mini-series Hijack.

I could never get into For All Mankind. I tried 3 times to make it through the first episode.

My daughter was into that one for a while. Gradually, my wife and I got sucked into it, too. It is pretty great. We love Jacques.

Poor Jacques.

I hate how easy he makes it look though.

Great British Bake Off (the new season just started Friday on Netflix) - My wife is a Brit so she gets to explain some of the vocabulary/humor. We also have a friend's son, Dylan, who is competing currently.

We finally started The Bear and blasted through it. Kind of hard to watch due to so much conflict between the characters but you hang around to see how it plays out. Great show.

The restaurant Ever in the show is better than the restaurant Ever in real life.

Jesus the show is like 5 years old. My kids got into it before the pandemic.

Got caught up with Slow Horses this week. As each new season starts, I begin to think it’s getting formulaic but the source material is so well written and the introduction of new characters keeps pulls me back in without fail. Emma Flyte is a great addition and the new First Desk is such a slimy prick!

Ring of power season 2 really picked up the pace, and I enjoyed the various storylines. Last episode made me feel what a cliff hanger is.

So, I both really like Industry (the push to convince me it's AMAZING of late has been eye roll inducing, but still), but I also don't know if I have any interest in more of it? Seems as though season 4 is a go. Happy to be wrong, but I'm struggling to see myself wanting more than that.

Apples to apples, I much prefer it to Succession (speaking of being eye roll inducing claims of all-time excellence lol), but the latter deserves no shortage of credit for refusing to drag the show out past its endpoint.

Like, the acting is (mostly) quite good. The plot machinations are just so silly/inconsequential that I could very easily see the show devolving into Billions-esque one-upmanship plot points. Which, pass.
