What to wear with this jacket?

I bought a very nice black pinstripe suit-style jacket (what retailers and laymen alike often style incorrectly as a "blazer"). It didn't cost me very much, and the label is good.

I am, however, unsure which pants will look good with it. Jeans are good, and give a casual look, but apart from that... I really don't know.

Trying to find pants with the same stripes, I guess is impossible, and black pants would probably look weird. So what should I look for? I guess I am aiming for the stage between jeans and suit.

Sounds like an orphaned suit jacket. Don't think it'll be much use as a sportscoat (which is what it sounds like you want it for).
