What to wear with this charcoal sports coat?

Morning, Styleforum. I need your help integrating a Charcoal hopsack sports coat (http://www.ctshirts.com/us/classic-fit-charcoal-lambswool-hopsack-jacket/SEF0095CHA42S.html) into my wardrobe for a Paris vacation this November. I'm looking to keep it at the 'street wear' formality level, likely with some Red Wing Iron Rangers boots or casual oxfords.

I tried pairing the jacket with dark blue jeans, a white button down, and the red wings, but I ended up looking like a cowboy. Which is not the look I'm going for as an américain in Paris. I ordered some dark grey jeans (Lucky Brand 410s in "Barrite Dark Wash") that I'm hoping tone down the cowboy look, but I won't know till I try them on.

Any suggestions on how I can get to make this jacket work?

If it helps, I'm of northern European descent so dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and light skin.

Tan or light brown flannel pants will look good with that. Bluchers or loafers for shoes. Light blue OCBD for the shirt.
