I just got a great deal on a green and white seersucker sport coat and a blue and white seersucker coat. I do not have matching pants for either and was wondering what shirts and pants can be worn with them. Thanks for the help as usual guys.

It would help to know whether the seersucker jackets (same brand, right?) are the traditional type.

Regardless, as a younger person, polo or button-front would be acceptable. As would pants of cotton or linen. The green-and-white jacket probably should not be worn with a green shirt or green pants. Black would not be a good choice for either. Pastel for the shirt was a good suggestion. Tan and navy could work for the pants. White, too, but probably not at the office. Light blue and pink would depend on the shirt color.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
