I was thinking tonight I wanted to dress up my grey cardigan and wear a white button down shirt underneath with some slacks. What color slacks and shoes would you all recommend? I would like to maybe go with a light tan pair of wool slacks but I am stuck on what color shoes to wear. Any help would be appreciated.

Brown, chestnut, or cordovan shoes. For pants, I'd lean toward brown or tan cords (but really, you could do a variety of colors). I've seen grey cardigans worn well with darker grey trousers. It sounds potentially monotonous, but paired with a nice blue shirt and brown tie, it could look really sharp. I'd stay away from the black pants.

I have a gray cardigan and wear dark charcoal flannels, beige cords, or khakis with a white or blue OCBD.

Yes; more info on the fit. Is it buttoned or zip-up? Grey is quite neutral you could go monochrome with darker grey trousers. Alternatively, brown or navy. Might even try chalk stripe trousers. I also like the suggestion of brown shoes...
