What to wear with a down vest?

I have this ralph lauren down vest. It's a little padded and was wondering what to wear under it in weather in the 40's(degrees Fahrenheit) to keep me warm and looking good.

i just got myself a down vest by Warehouse and i plan on wearing it with some long sleeve tshirts probably mostly in white. match them up with slim dark indigo jeans

depending on the style of the vest, maybe a solid color oxford button up or a thermal henley

again with this EG vest, but i was wearing an ocbd and a vneck when i tried it on, and it was godly.
