I have a black blazer, or possibly orphaned suit jacket, and I am having a hard time incorporating it into a good looking outfit. Anyone have any ideas?

Excellent!

Or a solid charcoal gray as a second choice.

+1, one of the few good combos available where a different color coat wouldn't be better.

You can wear a black jacket with a kilt for evening wear but it is a drastically different shape to a blazer, that would look terrible IMO.

Virtually any shade of gray would work best.

Lovely pattern. I have a blazer in this exact design, was thinking of putting suede patches on the elbows. Thoughts?

Jeans or pants in grey, white or black work well. Some shades of raw jeans too. Basically as easy to wear anything else but avoid navy or brown.

Same pattern, but rotate 90 degrees.
