In Australia (I'm in Melbourne) this week has been 35+ degrees. Today was 43 (109 Fahrenheit). Forecast 33+ days until sunday

What are people wearing to the office?! Unfortunately I cannot wear casual.

Shirt blue/pink, not white and no tie
Leather shoes (but I think it looks a bit weird to have brown shoes and no tie)
Suit pants grey/charcoal (looks funny with no jacket and tie)

Am being stupid due to the heat and thinking about useless things??

Perth has been similar. I just wear the shirt and tie sans jacket, and stay in the airconditioning during the heat of the day!

The power of the global web... you struggle with what to wear at 109 while I struggle with temps 121 degrees colder... damn this rotation of the earth.

My tastes are limited due to a lack of experience in trying to be fashionable, but I'd go with a pure linen, or mostly linen linen-cotton blend suit (carry the jacket if too hot to wear outdoors), in light grey, bone, or beige, with a linen/linen-cotton shirt.

My reasoning? I live in Ipswich, where it's usually hot, hot, hot, or in Winter, hot, hot, and damn cold when the sun goes down.

My two linen-cotton suits and linen-cotton and pure linen shirts have been glorious in the Summer, enabling me to dress nicely even on the hottest days.

You may have trouble with the liner of the suits if they're fully lined with some sort of thin polyester, like mine, but I doubt there's much problem in having bits of it removed if the usual colours of your shirts and underwear is similar in colour to your suit.

When I'm feeling adventurous I might take to the liner of mine with a pair of scissors - giving more air flow around my torso and below the length of my boxers.
