In AZ where everyday for 3 months it is over 100. And I am not used to it coming from Cleveland, OH What do you wear to the office? It sucks pretty bad. Suits are out of the question.

My gut response would be - anything that is white or very light pastel shade. It hardly ever gets that hot in L.A., but when it does that is my rule. It really makes a big difference. Larry.

Light weight linen shirts and slacks in light colors. And a HAT (panama). That was the best thing I brought when I visited Phoenix in the summer.

What great timing for this thread.

I'm headed to Las Vegas next week. I was wresting over this same issue.

I'll be at a convention, where I suppose I could dress down a little bit. However, I am hoping to network and score an eventual job with the company hosting. So I want to dress to impress, but also not dress to get heat exhaustion.

I would assume the OP's consideration is similar to mine.

Thanks for your replies to his question. They're helping me a lot also.

Vegas is a special case. Its hot outside but one is rarely outdoors in the heat.

You can stay indoors 99% of the time in Vegas and typically there should be shuttle buses for conventions unless you booked a hotel somewhere far off the strip...

The hat is a great suggestion. What an opportunity to use an accessory so many of us never have the reason to wear. But then again who needs a reason!

In extreme hot (and humid) climates I just wear normal summer clothes. The reason is because it is usually very cold indoors from the air conditioner (especially places like H.K.)

If you have a car as transportation, you rarely have to be exposed to the natural heat anyway. Maybe just for a few moments.

I live in AZ....I wear shorts, linen, and cottons. Im used to the heat but for an outsider your best best is light light but still carry a light jacket if you go up north (Flagstaff, Sedona)

Sunscreen.

Indoors, wear whatever you want, since everything is air conditioned. Minimize your time outdoors.

Good point. Hotel is the Venetian and the conference is there as well. You're right, I probably won't venture outside. If I do, it will more than likely be in the evening.
