what to wear for my birthday party

Well im having my birthday party this weekend at this club downtown dress code is casual dress.. I want to wear dark blue jeans with a sweater and a button down under it.. now im having trouble deciding on what color sweater and collar shirt to wear under it... im open to suggestions also if someone could reccomend a good pair of casual dress shoes preferably black..

I go simple with a black vest or cotton sweater, you want a light fabric and wear a white or ecru under it. Also do not flare the shirt collar outside the sweater. As far as shoes go anything slip on, something without laces.
