What to wear for an Open Day?

Hello. So I'm doing a degree that involves a year's work placement. Getting a placement would invariably involve interviews but there are also open days. I think it's a good idea to go to these to get contacts, etc. But I was just wondering what I should wear? The kind of corps I'm looking at are Credit Suisse and others in that vain.

The only suit I have is a khaki RLBL and the trousers are possibly too large now. But would it be okay to wear this?

I'll be getting a charcoal suit at some point, but wanted to wait until it was time to actually attend interviews etc. the open days will be significantly before then. Reasons for waiting include money (I simply don't have enough to buy a decent suit right now) and the fact that I suspect I'll lose more weight. Plus I ideally wanted to wait till there was an Armani Collezioni sale on (end of summer, I imagine).

And then there's the tie dilemma. I don't have a shirt which I can close the top button on. And the reason for this is if I buy a shirt for my neck size, the rest of it is sized for someone significantly larger than I am (my neck size is 17.5 - 18). So I was going to get some bespoke shirts made but I can't do that before the nearest open day and I don't really have the money to get them and some decent ties.

I think I'm fine for footwear, I've got some brown Crockett and Jones Oxford brogues (but maybe I need black shoes?!?).

Any help much appreciated.

And if anyone can recommend some good bespoke shirt makers in London I'd be much obliged (as I'll only have to make another thread at some point).

Black dress shoes would be better than brown. White or light blue dress shirt. Tie not needed. If you have an odd jacket, wear that instead of the khaki suit. Everything should fit decently.
