Guys I bought a cream linen coat recently to wear for spring/summer down here in Australia.

Not too sure what to wear with it. It seems almost like wearing formal wear.

Any ideas of what shirt colors and pants, pocket squares, ties and the like to pair with this new addition to my wardrobe

For warm weather here I pair my cream colored jacket with:
bright pink shirt
Lime green gingham
blue white stripe
magenta

sand /khaki trousers

brown shoes

just about every color except white on the pocket square. Not because white wouldn't work, I just reach for the color first.

A solid light blue shirt would also be okay. For pants, navy blue trousers might work, depending on how the jacket looks.

A burgundy shirt sans tie would look excellent.

I wore this to a black tie, optional event. Can't remember if I wore any trousers . . . if I did, they were navy linen.

I like that look. So basically you can where anything, but have a bit of color and contrast, except when wearing a white shirt.

Thank you. It takes a lot of guts, to post a picture on this forum.

That jacket was very unconstructed. Not my usual thing, but it was marked way down. I couldn't resist it. It's double breasted, with a peak lapel. I used a Ben Silver tie in a traditional stripe, to offset the slight outre aspect, of the jacket. The rest of the outre, I provided myself.

In addition to all the other suggestions, my 2 cents. Pale blue shirt, taupe, sand or light grey trousers. Cream is pretty versatile. Done the dark shirt thing too (only a few times!)
