What to match with this shirt?

Hey,
just bought this shirt the other day and was wondering what color/pattern tie to match it with? Also, would it look fine with a navy blazer?

The checks are thin black lines on a white shirt. Could i match a tie that does not have black in it?
Thanks!

Black and white to me means definitely need to throw colours in. As for what colour - what ever you feel like. Pattern wise is pretty much open to anything you want too as long as they're not to similar to your shirt.

so you're saying I could really put any color tie with it, within reason?
For instance a light blue w/ pink paisley?
Also, would it be fine to pair with a navy blazer due to the black checks on it?
Thanks

This is a very traditional pattern so wear it in a classical way.
Wool blazer (preferably brown-ish color) + Wool tie in classical fit.
The pattern is not so subtle so I will not wear this casually.
Spruce up and get that 60s feel.

A navy blazer could go well with it, a grey blazer would look best. Try going with a plain tie though, no need for striping as the shirt is already striped as well.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
