Hey guys. I'm considering studying in Siena for about 2-3 weeks this summer and am wondering if there's anything sartorial I should buy while I'm there. I read on wikitravel that there's good neckties and leather. It's not far from Florence, so maybe suggestions from there too. Many thanks.

Nothing brilliant clothes wise struck me about Sienna. But load up on cheap Tuscan wine, olive oil, and ricciarelli cookies.

I bought a leather bag in florence that I like.

I also realized that in terms out pairing pieces with outfits, the san lorenzo market would be incredibly handy to have nearby. There are a plethora of belts/scarves and other accessories available very cheaply if you haggle so you can pick up colors/styles to match with ease.

I wish I had bought a couple of belts as the leather stuff seemed pretty good for how incredibly cheap it was (I was trying to avoid filling my very small bag with half my trip still remaining). I did buy a "cashmere" scarf for a good 2-3 euros--it obviously is not made out of cashmere although I think there is a tiny cashmere fuzz on it so it feels real to unknowing buyers willing to pay anywhere near asking price (the fuzz wears off pretty quick). I just wanted a bright orange, lightweight scarf and certainly would never find anything in a store in the US that cheap.

I wish I was going to be there for the race. They obviously tailor the programs around the races. Fockers.
