Charcoal knit would be good.

A solid or a striped or polka?

Cheers

Solid. The shirt is a loud pattern, another pattern could be done, but would be tricky. A knit tie provides texture, and thus visual interest, without adding a competing pattern.

You can use those shirts for the office if you use a solid black, charcoal grey or navy blue suit. I do insist on solid. The pattern and the color of the shirts are already loud so, you want to tone down everything else. For casual ties, use a slim or knit solid black, dark purple or navy blue. For office, don't go with a tie if you can. If not, use a regular solid dark purple which can be used for all three mention above suit color spectrum.

I disagree with pretty much everything in this post.
