What 'tagged size' would these measurements represent?

Trying to estimate size of an untagged sportcoat for EBay posting.
33" top of collar to hem
26 sleeve
18 across back from shoulder seam - shoulder seam
46" chest.

44R maybe? (original seller posted as a 38R chest ... which is most definitely IS NOT!!)

That sounds like about a 42R to me. Usually 4" difference between chest measurement and tagged size. Though 18" shoulders are a touch on the narrow side for a 42.

Yeah, 18" shoulders and a 46" chest are a very unusual combination. Most 42Rs I've seen are 44-45" chest (pit-to-pit x 2) with a 19-20" shoulder. Sometimes I see a tagged-42R with 18.5" shoulder, but then the chest is 43.5-44" to match.

If the quoted measurements are correct, I would guess it was a MTM piece for someone with narrow shoulders and a broad chest (?). Maybe a narrow-shouldered, but portly fellow -- maybe the (unknown) waist measurement is also rather large for the shoulder size.

In any case, it seems like there's enough weirdness around the measurements, I'd pass on it.

Did you re-measure the chest? 46 " still sounds a little big.
