Watching Queer Eye, I noticed how the grooming expert told the straight guy that he shouldn't use the same soap for the body and the face. Now, I've always done this while showering. Is there something wrong with that.

It seems that I should use a higher quality soap, made out of glycerine, for the face. Would it be considered a waste to then use that in the shower, for the rest of my body.

And, does anyone have any preferences. I have always used Irish Spring. I loved their commercials when I was younger.

I have oily face skin, so I'm used to using two types of soap in the shower. Body soap isn't as gentle as specific face soap.

I don't think there's anything wrong with using the same soap for body and face. However, I have two different products that I use. For a long time now, I've used Dermalogica for my face. I find it to be very refreshing, and it does a good job of taking care of dirt and grime. I don't have very strong feelings for one body wash over another, but -- for the record -- I've been using Suave for Men and Old Spice soap recently.

I like Val's Veggie Bar for both face and body, it's not made with animal fats, and won't clog pores

I don't have a problem with using the same soap for the body and face. I understand though that for some skin types this won't work.

Great soaps if you can get them are from Santa Maria Novella, and somewhat cheaper, Rance.

I use Noxzema on my face. I put it on before I get in the shower, hop in, wash the rest of my body and then rinse my face under the shower. I've been doing this for 15+ years and it keeps my skin clean and moisturized.

To save money, you can usually find generic versions of Noxzema at most dollar stores and they work just as well as the original.

I recently picked up some Nivea face wash. It seems okay, but doesn't lather up very well which always makes me worry how well it is really working. I am thinking of trying their face scrub next. Anybody have any experience with that or similar face washes that are good and can be bought at Wal-Mart?

Amen on the Old Spice body wash.  I've been using that for a couple months and it smells great.

Previously, I've only used a facial cleanser. Now, I cleanse, tone and mosturize, usually twice a day. I found that the extra effort has paid off.
