I know this is a big ass post for a first one, so I'll put a cliffs at the end. For the curious, the story is there.

Jr. year of high school, 260lbs (highest). Sr. year, 215lbs (lowest). Freshman year college, 198 lowest, 215 highest. Now: 185 maintained with very little fluctuation, eat clean, work out religiously, very much in control of my physique.

I've had man-boobs for as long as I can remember, which was always one of my biggest problems, my stomach never really bulged out (when I was 260 I guess it did, but I don't remember that very well) but my chest held a lot of fat. Right now, I'm 6'1, 185lbs with around a 33/34 waist. I have broad shoulders (football player build) and a pretty massive chest, the man boobs are almost completely gone, I have defined pecs and the start of abs (top 4 show).

The gist of this is, as I got better looking, I started to care about fashion more and now its time to really figure out what's what, because I've got the body to rock the good stuff. My question is, what sizes should I be shooting for? Ideal waist for someone of my height? I'm on top of my body recomposition to the point where I can sculpt my body however I want it. I don't want to look like a bodybuilder, I swim and I'm toning back the heavy lifting now that I have the size I want.

Should I be going for a smaller waist or stick in the 34 range? Slim or relaxed fit on pants? I have a long torso, my pants are around a 32 in length. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The question you're asking is "What size will fit me?"

There is no answer to this question.

The question you should be asking is "What size do I take in <this manufacturer's> stuff?".

The answer to this is "Order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit, or return them both when you realize that you're in more athletic shape than the standard sizes cater for"

In reality, you know much more about you than anyone on here, and you're the only one who cares to answer this question. Let us know how it works out.

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
