38" chest. I usually buy small to medium sized clothing (almost always S for US brands).

However, I have broad square shoulders and longer arms, so medium sizes always fit better in these areas.

I'm amazed that those who consider themselves a Large are only 1% (at this point)

Would any of our retail friends give us an idea how a Brick and Mortar retailer would allot his inventory as to size?

it really depends alot on the maker: for example, i am large in most brands but let say hugo boss dress shirts ( i have a few) i am xl.

i used to pump iron alot when i was in my twenties, and now with all this girth (even without working out for the past several years)
i dont fit well in suits.

my lapels always seem to pucker, maybe the consequence of relegating myself to rtw only, but i wish i hadnt worked out so much (for no reason, i did nt play football, am not a cop, didnt do anything with it but just for looks. young ambitions)
i wish i was thinner and maybe a medium sized build i now envy those guys who can slip into an italian suit with such sleekness.

Hmm... you and I are about the same size. I might have to kill you for your clothes someday. Don't take it personally.

Any man who can kill me has a god given right to my clothes - just like the hunter has the right to the fur of a bear he has slain. But sometimes, the bear gets the hunter. Beware.

Thats why I stand behind the hunter, wait for him to take his shot, and if he kills the bear, then I waste the hunter, if the hunter falls, then I unload my ninja minigun loaded with 2500 rounds of chain fed magnesium tipped incindiaries into the bear while its distracted and then cut out his heart with an exact-o knife.

mmm bear heart.
