Going to be staying up all night after thanksgiving to get some clothing deals online. What are the hotspots? Ive never done this before, so I need to know where to look.

I'd start with ralphlauren.com There's usually a friends and family sale that begins around that time. Last year it was 40% off with an additional 15% on the first day - which works out to a 49% discount - which is sweet. At certain times they've excluded the EG/Purple Label shoes, but that's a wait and see at this point. Most other things are included.

Why would anyone have a big sale before the Christmas rush... isn't it usually after?

Surely you're aware of the giant sale day that is the day after Thanksgiving, right? They call it black friday b/c it's usually the first day of the year that retail establishments get out of the red and into the black. It's customary for retail establishments to have a big sale that day b/c many people have vacation the day after Thanksgiving to kick off their holiday shopping season.
