So im new to dressing up in suits, dress shirts, chinos, ties etc. Ive decided to change my whole wardrobe already started buying dress shirts, slacks and ties but dont know what dress shoes to get. I only have some squared toe stacey adams or something like that. My budget is $200 for now but everything i like is a lot more than that. Im looking for some wingtips and toe cap shoes. please give me some options i can go with unless yall want me to go into aldo and get some of their wingtips for $110. Thanks

Black captoes are the most formal shoe. If you're wearing sober, conservative suits in a sober, conservative workplace, they are the way to go. If, on the other hand, you are wearing less than ultra conservative business dress (e.g. suits other than navy and charcoal, sportcoats, non-wool dress pants), you might find dark brown shoes more helpful.

At $200, you might want to check out the Allen-Edmonds warehouse sales. Nordstrom also has a twice yearly sale.

Hold off on wingtips until you get a pair of black and a pair of brown captoes. philosophe has the right idea as to whether brown or black would serve you better.

Allen Edmonds or Meermin if you're buying new.

If you're comfortable with buying used, then check ebay or buy and sell forum. I'll leave brand suggestions up to someone with more experience.

lol...."toe cap."...adorable.

Depending on what you'll be wearing, you may want to consider black or brown Park Avenue from Allen Edmonds.

Thanks fellas for your suggestions

Since you're not used to wearing dress shoes, you would really benefit from a knowledgeable sales person.
