Aren't you in the land of "eh" and mullets, though? Does it actually get that hot there?

It gets way hot here, anyway it doesn't matter as I do the same in places like NYC and Barcelona and people are literally dripping with sweat around me. It's one of those noblesse oblige things, like colonials and their white suits in Morocco.

I've got a couple of questions about the Loager for Uniqlo shorts. How much did they cost? What colors do they sell? What are the sizes and are they true to size or otherwise? Thanks

Do you have litter-bearers? Because that would be intense.

Like I said, I'd love to wear jackets year-round, but it would not be stylish at all, I'd just be dripping and look foolish. If you can pull it off, I'm jealous! In the meantime, I have conquered my personal fear of shorts and now wear them as much as I can once it gets above about 95 F with anything above about 65% humidity. Ditto for tanks/sleeveless shirts. I am much happier for it, as are the people around me, who don't have to listen to me complain quite as much.

it's 94 in LA today. i'm wearing shorts. North Face cargos for bumming around town and running errands.

if i want to "dress it up", i'll go for my Prada Madras, YokoD seersuckers, or PRL linens.

but from around May to October, unless i'm at work, i'll be wearing shorts.

They look sort of weirdly flared on the website, but on Bastian the fit seems great. They wouldn't work on everyone though. I mean they are pink (which is what I like about them).

On the subject of wearing shorts at all, I think it really depends on where you'll be wearing them. Where I live, shorts do not appear to be very casual because most people dress very casually anyway.

In fact, I'm always trying to think of ways to express personal style without looking completely different from all the other guys around me. Not that I will start wearing Nike polos three sizes too large, but as much as I'd like to, walking around in a blazer every day just isn't an option. Anyone have similar issues?

Yeah. Friend's gf said it best: it takes balls to dress with style.
