What shoes not to buy!

I think SF needs to compile a list of what men's shoes not to ask about and not to buy. I'll start...
1. Aldo - dont buy, dont look, dont consider, just plain eww

1. Kenneth Cole - poor construction, cheap leather, terrible design and fit
2. Ecco - comfortable but really ugly shoes
3. Bruno Magli - ask OJ Simpson
4. Cole Haan - overpriced, poorly constructed
5. Hugo Boss - overpriced, the sizing varies greatly for each model
6. Florsheim - they've really gone down hill in terms of quality

every single men's shoe i have ever seen from them are bad quality and ugly... i think that warrants a brand to be garbage

Yeah, I'm just saying it's hard to be objective about these things. When I was in college, square-toe shoes were in; everyone from the high-end designers to Rockport to Banana Republic were making them, and Kenneth Cole, with his square-y-est of square toes, paid for a lot of advertising in magazines like GQ and Esquire. And bizarrely, GQ and Esquire told you they were hip, and people bought them, and people lauded their quality and construction on the interwebs.

Fast forward a few years, you see less KC advertising in those glossy mags, you've got Esquire doing a 180, saying square-toes aren't the mark of a 'gentleman' (or whatever BS they're peddling to those who want to appear upper middle class), and subsequently, internet bros who don't really know about quality and construction telling you about quality and construction.

Just saying: grain of salt.

I like this member's position. If there's too much groupthink we'll all essentially be in uniforms. Equanimity is key. I'm throwing my grain of salt alongside his. In other words...+1!

Jeffrey West - poorest quality corrected grain leather available, used on badly constructed blake or on a half decent GY welt (for the price) but the CG leather is so bad Kenneth Cole wouldn't use it.
