Uhm... what about boots?

it really depends on whatever else you're wearing. as a general rule for jeans that have wide leg openings, don't wear anything too slim because the hem will drape over and make you look like a girl. Wide leg openings let you get away with chunkier shoes - recently there have been people on clothing forums trying to get away wearing red wings with skinny jeans, but in my opinion that just looks retarded.

Double soled boots or heavy derbies would be a good idea. the red wing GT mentioned above would work with these; also consider something by trickers (can be had for about $200 on ebay) and frye's.

I wear my Polo Oxnards - it's a brown shell cordovan backstrap boot with a double sole made by Crockett & Jones; I also wear the Bruno Magli Kent in black calf as my black boot - it is a chelsea boat with a slightly extended sole.

For derbies, I wear the Polo Darlton, which is a brown wingtip shell cordovan double soled derby, also manufactured by C&J. I also wear the AE Leeds in black shell cordovan, or the AE Cornell in black or chili calf. The Cornell is a black monstrap, but it comes with a commando half sole so it looks solid.

Slim hem = slim shoes. Wide hem = chunky shoes

Brown bluchers/derbies from Alden, perhaps?

maybe these? Or a wingtip?

or the Indy boot?

Another alternative would be to just go over to pediwear and see what they've got from Trickers, C&J, Grenson and Alfred Sargent.

As for chunky sneakers, I'm not the best source. I'm still wearing my old steve maddens from 6 or 7 years ago, mainly because I don't wear them often. My regular sneakers are PF Flyers in natural and a pair of white marteganis.
