NOte that she may find her feet no longer fit in her former shoes. I mention it only because you may consider preparing her psychologically for the possibility that her feet will have widened permanently due to the weight of the pregnancy. And you may want to prepare financially for the possibility of a heel-restocking event.

I don't care if they are Gucci or not, I think they look great.

Multiple positive comments about two of my least expensive shoes
AE Westgate
Borgioli Suede Monkstrap

I have heard numerous negative comments from women about both Vass Budapesters and Alden Longwings.

It really seems like monkstraps are getting the most compliments.

I haven't been keeping track, but if I'm recalling correctly, many people in this thread have reported a positive response to them.

I've been in an industry where I can wear jeans almost every day (part of the reason I found this site is because I'm about to change jobs and need to dress better). With that in mind, the shoes I have that get the most compliments on -- from men and women -- are a pair of Pony shoes in brown leather styled like Chuck Taylor All-Stars. The Pony stripe is in red suede. I seem to get a lot of compliments on those shoes.

All my quality shoes get compliments, whether monks or oxfords. I don't do loafers.

The women LOVE my super classy, sexy, 100% hand made Pumas when I wear them with my suit.

I met my wife wearing shoes like these.

This is quite true. My wife went up a half size after our child was born. Depending on how many shoes/how much money is involved, it may be better to get a farrier to fit her feet to the old shoes. A little rasping and filing can go a long way.

My gators and my spectators (in season). The brown/white specs get more comliments than the black/white specs. Ladies also seem to like almost anything in brown suede. Add some killer socks and they will just about follow you home

Thankfully this is our second, but I was prepared and (somewhat) lucky after our first, as she was able to fit back into her 'babies'. Unfortunately I made the mistake of sharing my financial preparedness** and paid for it in jewelery instead.

**This is always a mistake, I have since learned.

They make baby Jesus cry, thats for sure..
When Jesus got older he learned to appreciate them. But only the all brown version, as opposed to SoCals crayola discotheque version.
