What shirt, tie with pinstripe suit?

I have a dark gray pinstripe suit, black belt and shoes. My choices for my shirt are just white, light blue, and cream. I like solid ties, but the only two I can find right now are a cream one and a white one.

Would any of these possible combinations be recommended, or should I just go with a different tie. Most of my other ties are the coil stripe types. I have a pink one with black gray and white very small lines, one with equal size silver and dark blue coils, one with dark green and dark blue equal coils, and a few others, but doubt the others would work.

Your choice in color combinations should really be influenced by your personal coloring (hair color, eyes, skin tone, etc.) and contrast. Take a look at the first few pages of the AFlusser's book 'Dressing the Man' for an explanation and simplified examples. Regardless, I like the idea of a dark grey pinstripe suit with a light blue shirt. Try the pink tie first. As long as the stripes of the tie are of a different spacing than the suit it should work well. (Btw, don't wear solid tie with a solid shirt unless you are desperate.) Through in a solid white pocket square and post a picture for the board. Good luck!
