What shirt silhouette suits my body type?

I don't have such a tough time with anything else, but I find shirts in general don't look that great on me. I generally revert to a slightly loose fit OTR.

This is my latest MTM slim fit shirt, and to me I think slim fit doesn't look good on me.

I think a fuller shirt would look better on you.

With some exceptions, I think shirts either fit well or they don't. I don't think of them as having silhouettes like other kinds of tailored clothing.

There are some obvious exceptions. Things like summer shirts and popovers should be looser. Some SWD fits also play around with the cut of the shirt (like a boxy cut). But for the kind of stuff discussed on this side of the board, I think most shirts should just fall cleanly and look middle-of-the-road.

This is an old photo of @SpooPoker. I think the shirt fits really well.

An easy way to tell if your shirt is too tight: sit down and see if the placket pulls.

I think it looks fine but it's tricky to tell when not tucked in.

If you're in decent shape I don't think there's a reason to have a loose/blocky looking shirt? Don't go skin tight Jersey Shore either!

My god, this is the thread I have been searching for without knowing it! I have the exact same doubts about my MTM fit so far (looks about the same as yours).

I have a build very similar to yours. The trick is to have it looser at the chest but keep the waist tight

I think the other issue is I'm looking for a hybrid untucked/tucked fit.

Gotcha, so loosen up the chest by 1"-2" maybe?

I think it looks and must feel too slim and tight from the chest down to the waist and hips. The moment you sit down or relax all the buttons are going to pull.

Can you roll up the sleeves up to your elbow?

Just barely.
