What shirt should I wear with a grey suit.

Grey suits look so damn stuck up and boaring, I like vibrant darkness to my clothing (I'm sure some of you know what I mean)

e.g.

Dark charcoal suit, pink shirt, purple tie and pocket square.

Navy suit, black and royal blue tie, royal blue shirt.

Navy suit, pale blue shirt, electric blue tie.

etc.

Vote for the one which you think will make the grey suit look like the above, more vibrant, colour schemes.

Any suggestions, please do post below:

Pink livens up gray quite a bit. Very dark (almost black) gray looks nice with cream.

Esp. if it's a lighter grey suit, a shirt in a lighter shade of blue with a navy or black tie should make for a nice effect.

My fav look is a gray SB 3-button suit (Neapolitan cut) with a high gorge and 2 ½ roll, with a cutaway, double cuff white shirt (pattern less, like a broadcloth) with a textured black tie and silk knots in gray / white / black and a pair of lace-ups, possibly pebble grain. It's very James Bond, conduit-cut-looking (from a far, the style, not the actual details), whilst being modern and timeless all at once.

I wore this look in NYC and got quite a few compliments at both stores and by various passersby on the street (yeah, I was surprised too, since it is Manhattan after all, no one talks to you...)

Seems like a nice look, and not too bland as well, with the black tie. That's the main problem I get with grey suits, it always looks so depressing. I normaly wear with a white shirt and a Lanvin purple floral print tie, but it still looks dull., I've even tried to liven it up with a purple pocket square, but to no avail.

My favorite shirt/tie combination with a solid charcoal suit:
light grey twill, double-cuff shirt with lavender stripes from T&A and a pink, light pink and lavender T&A tie. I usually also wear a white linen pocket square with a lavender edge and purple or pink silk knots. This combination always receives many complements.

Blue, cream, yellow, green, or maroon with blue suits
Almost any color with tan suits
Yellow? Green? With a suit? Odd...

So you never wear white shirts?
