What setting do you shave on with your adjustable double edge razor?

i keep mine on a permanent 1.5, whatever that number means. it gives me a really smooth shave, and isnt painful at all

You just need to find the setting right for you. There should be NO pain involved in getting a BBS shave. The trick is finding the lowest setting that works, rather than the highest setting you can tolerate.

I keep mine one at 1. You should be putting any pressure down at all, it should glide and be painless, sounds like your using a dull blade with bad soap/cream.
