I've been using unscented oil from The Art of Shaving, but I was thinking of switching to one of the scented varieties. They have sandalwood, lavender, and lemon. Which would go best with Chanel Egoiste Platinum?

And while I'm asking, I'm also curious which would go best with Chanel Egoiste. I don't wear that one nearly as often as the platinum, but I do on occasion.

if you're using an EDT, you shouldn't use a purposefully-scented shaving product (eg, Designer shaving products)

    simple as that

most non-purposefully-scented shaving products are designed w/ low sillage & longetivity so they don't interfere w/ any cologne or EDT you choose to wear. so you can pick whichever scent you prefer - little consideration need be given to whether it will clash w/ your EDT/cologne. i'd be wary of any shaving product where the smell lasts a long time - fragrances aren't supposed to be applied to the face - also this doesn't belong in this forum

Thanks for the response. There are only two forums: Mens Clothing and Streetwear and Denim. I really can't see how either is a better choice for this topic, so I just picked one.

It should be sandalwood. I'd just add that The Art of Shaving sandalwood scent is not to my liking, though.

Interesting. I must be clicking on the wrong thing. I suppose "Health & Body" is where people would prefer to see this? Still, cologne seems to be more of something you'd "wear" vs. a health thing, so Streetwear seems more appropriate to me. Of course, one could argue cologne goes on your body, but then streetwear goes on your body, too. I don't really see the clear dividing lines here.

the test for whether something belongs in this forum isn't 'whether it goes on your body'. that's almost nonsensical

matters of streetwear (ie, not mere casualwear but clothing rooted in 'jeans culture') belong here, and streetwear accessories

grooming products are not accessories - they aren't an accessory to any garment you wear. and they're not a matter of streetwear since their essence isn't rooted in streetwear, but rather hygiene/grooming
