Just seen the Leonard Cohen tribute movie and discovered Rufus Wainwright. Great voice.
Also just got Jamie Cullum's latest,... not so sure about his voice, though. Seems slightly affected somehow.. Not a bad listen that aside...

Have you given Embryonic a chance yet?
After at War with the Mystics I have found it very refreshing.

I'm still decending the dark staircase into Jazz. This is becoming a sickness started by the neophyte jazz thread. I blame you all. I picked up Birth of the Cool, Sketches of Spain, Charlie Parker - The Dial recordings, Vijay Iyer - Historicity and Chris Botti - December. I wish I could take the Botti back though. Even thought he's a great player he's too much the Kenny G of the trumpet for me.

The problem with the FLips for me is I tend to really dig their albums when I first listen to them...then i never come back. They don't leave me wanting at all. I'm not sure why. Embryonic is good, and I liked At War With the Mystics as well...but I never listen to them...or Yoshimi...or any of the earlier stuff.
