    Steely Dan live @ Poplar Creek (Chicago) in 1994. "Sign in Stranger," long one of my favorite songs. It just oozes the groove. Fagen bends the note on "past" and it is sublime. This cooks even harder than the version from the same era that appeared on Alive in America. So sick!

    ok, finally bringing myself into the 21st century. been listening to a lot of Killers and Franz Ferdinand the past few weeks. now it's The New Pornographers. holy fuck "The Bleeding Heart Show" rules.

    I was at a party and someone asked me 'Do you like Franz Ferdinand?' 'I don't know about his policies that set off the Black Hand, but his death was the proximate cause of the first World War.' *Blank stare* (I realized they were talking about the band or group or whatever it is but I felt like being a smartass after half a fifth of Dewar's).

    i love axelrod. songs of innocence and experience and earth rot are real highlights. also his tenure working with cannonball adderly is worth seeking out. did you mention him in connection with lil wayne in connection with that huge sample in lil wayne's track Dr. Carter?
